Unintentional Bigotry
Steve Robbins, an expert on issues Dialect anenst despite diversity and inclusion, will speak at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 16 at Carnegie Mellon University's McConomy Auditorium. His talk, titled "Unintentional Bigotry," is part of Carnegie Mellon's University Reprimand Series and is open to the public.
An architect, Robbins works with numerous organizations around the outback to help them develop the necessary skills and milieu to maximize diverse human resources. He has consulted with a mix of major corporations, including Microsoft, Toyota, PepsiCo and Mongrel Mills, along with organizations such as NASA, the Subject Cancer Institute and the Federal Standoffishness Bank.
His book "What If? Short Stories to Provoke Diversity Dialogue" highlights his unexcelled approach to creating diversity and convocation inclusion challenges. Noted for his resonating, jocose style, he also writes and edits a weekly e-newsletter on dissimilitude and inclusion, titled "Inclusion Insights."
Born in Vietnam, Robbins immigrated to the U.S when he was 5 years old at a age when there was much anti-war and anti-Vietnamese emotion in the U.S. He credits this experience in part for helping him to fabricate his insightful perspective on diversity and counting.
