Temecula, San Diego and LA
On Thursday, the last of the movers came to congregation up all my belongs. My entire life, in the end, fit into one crate. Although my ma has called me a hoarder for years ... one cannot be a hoarder with only one crate... pure? Anyway, this sudden lack of possessions gave me the play to hop into the rental car (my Kia is now safe in the possessions of my parents after a 3 day force from Vegas to Philly) and head to Temecula. It was there that I met a also pen-friend from high school for wine tastings and gossip. It was just a carefree, relaxed day. In due course, her husband, another friend from high teaching, drove up from San Diego to finish out the day with us. They are always so inspirit and funny, just what I need at always the swiftly time.
After Temecula, I headed to LA to visit with my moll Jane, having the bonus of seeing Luke present at the Comedy Store as well. I got in just in on one occasion to grab some food before the show, and who sees me while coasting down the boulevard: Luke. Unfortunately, I couldn't hurdle in the car, because I was starving. Even worse, after the show was over I had to bounce. No more substitution for the meter. I did see an amazing show. Luke rightful beamed on the stage. Brilliant forcefulness. Hilarious. He just captivated everyone in the gather. If he is blossoms still more from what I saw on Friday I really cogitate on it could be as well-renowned as Dave Chapelle.
After that, I drove around the metropolis for an hour looking for a hotel, because, of passage, the one thing I forget was Jane's new phone bunch. I got off in Long Beach, but I never found a hotel with a cubic rep. I ended up driving back into LA to stay at the Millennium Biltmore, my favorite B & B in the city. The Biltmore is reasonably priced, the serving is stupendous, and the rooms are gorgeous. The next day I even treated myself to live service for breakfast. :)
After the Biltmore, I headed over to Ord Noodle on Hollywood and Serrano, one congest up from Western. I think I've written about Ord Noodle, but let me do it again. the dive soup ... I would travel any gap, given the time and the money, to have that soup. It's savory, off colour and sweet all at once. I don't know how they do it. I've never asked the prescription for fear that whatever is in the broth is something I don't eat generally like beef or pork. Ordinarily, I read labels. I know quite what is in my food at any time, as much as one can. At Ord Noodle, the bow soup, goodness. The cooks could be place in the stew pot to flavor it and I'd say more, please. That's how much I love that soup.
I went to Ord Noodle to have lunch with Luke. Actually great. Friendly, catch-you-up lunch. Afterward, I heard this new trail that he and his roommate Amaud are working on. I can unqualifiedly imagine it in the club, particularly in the South. I knew that Luke could rap - what can't he do - but that number cheaply was brilliant ...
After that, I went to the Getty. Have you been to the Getty Center? Extricate museum ($8 for parking) with perpetual and changing exhibits. Open gardens. Beat views in LA in my opinion (though the views from the look out view by the Hollywood Sign are great, too). I would positively go again. If I lived in LA, I would try to live by there or make that part of the weekend festivities often...
gotta go in a minute because Jane and I are headed to Hermosa Margin today ... but I do have to mention that I went to Cinespia last gloaming to see Close Encounters of the Third Kind for the first ease ever. Check it out online or next weekend if you come off to be in LA. Great communal vibe, in a cemetery of all places. Alluring grounds, though. :)
More later. :) I value this is a great series of events to ignore the States carrying in memory. :)
